The Education for Girls Project has left an everlasting mark on the landscape of Thulipokhari, Nepal. Since its inception in 2001, over 2000 young women have successfully graduated from the program. By constructing safe and accessible dormitory facilities, we've eliminated barriers to education, enabling girls to pursue their dreams without risking their safety. Prior to the dormitory's construction, girls faced challenging journeys of up to 2-3 hours each way to access education. Treacherous routes, including rickety bridges and narrow roads susceptible to monsoon season damage, posed significant risks to their safety. This challenging journey not only hindered their educational opportunities but also exposed them to the dangers of human trafficking. Through scholarships covering housing, tuition, meals, and supplies, we've created a pathway for success, with many graduates now thriving in various professions including social work, government, and education. Many of our graduates have even gone on to complete master's degrees. Beyond the classroom, our micro-lending initiative has catalyzed economic growth, lifting families out of poverty and transforming entire communities.
